Which AI is Best For Me?

All of a sudden there are more AI models than lawn signs on election day. Which one is best for you?

Here’s a quick guide to the major players, what they’re good at, and how to decide which one fits your style, your work, and your goals.
🧠 ChatGPT (OpenAI)
Best for: Creativity, writing, planning, brainstorming, complex tasks, workshops, presentations, long-form thinking.
Why people like it: ChatGPT is strong at reasoning, structure, and producing polished content. It’s great for drafting emails, writing or editing documents, building programs or presentations, idea generation, and planning. It’s also the most “conversational” AI—good when you want back-and-forth refinement.
🔍 Perplexity
Best for: Fast research, fact-finding, summaries of real-world info, staying current.
Why people like it: Perplexity is like a super-powered search engine. It pulls information from across the web, cites sources, and gives digestible answers. It’s excellent when accuracy, speed, or source transparency matters. Great for “What’s going on with X right now?” or “Show me the best options for Y.”
🔧 Claude (Anthropic)
Best for: Deep reading, analysis, long documents, thoughtful tone.
Why people like it: Claude is calm, measured, and great at digesting large files and producing structured insights. Good for people who want an AI that feels like a careful editor or advisor. Strong with emotional nuance and polished, gentle language.
💼 Microsoft Copilot
Best for: Office workflows—Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
Why people like it: If you live inside Microsoft 365, Copilot plugs in natively to handle tasks like summarizing emails, cleaning up spreadsheets, creating slide decks, and drafting documents directly in the apps you're already using. It’s productivity-focused, not personality-focused.
📱 Gemini (Google)
Best for: Google ecosystem users—Gmail, Docs, Android devices.
Why people like it: Works well inside Google Workspace and on Android phones. Good for quick tasks and search-style queries. Not as strong for long-form creation as ChatGPT or Claude, but very convenient if you’re already using Gmail, Drive, or Google Photos heavily.
So… Which One Should You Use?
Here's my opinion. If you want:
The best all-around companion for writing, planning, creativity, and thought work → ChatGPT
Fast, cited research and up-to-the-minute info → Perplexity
Deep reading, analysis, and a calm editorial style → Claude
Seamless Microsoft workflow help → Copilot
Google-ecosystem convenience → Gemini
Many people end up using two:
👉 ChatGPT for “thinking,” Perplexity for “knowing.”
👇 How to Get a FREE Perplexity Pro Account (1 Year)
I also wanted to tell you how to get a free Perplexity Pro Artificial Intelligence account for one year just by creating a PayPal account. You don’t have to use PayPal at all—simply sign up, then open your PayPal Notifications and you’ll see the Perplexity offer waiting for you.
I did this and it worked for me (not an endorsement and no one is paying me).
