🥣 Soup Master Activity Kit

A hands-on wellness activity your participants will remember.
The Soup Master Activity Kit from Therapy Gardens turns a table into a creative “mix & label” station. Participants explore grains, legumes, herbs, and spices; then build a personal blend, name it, and apply a custom label to a take-home pouch. It’s tactile, social, and confidence-building—without needing to cook on site.

What’s included

  • 12 labeled ingredient jars (grains, legumes, pasta, herbs, spices, citrus accent)

  • Salt-free soup base mix

  • Take-home pouches with zip seals (windowed)

  • Mini wooden spoons & biodegradable cups for measuring

  • Label sheets + fine-tip pens (for naming and decorating blends)

  • “Ingredient Overview” handout (nutrition notes)

  • Facilitator quick-start + optional slide deck (digital access)

How it works (no kitchen needed)

  • Set out jars, cups, spoons, labels, and pouches.

  • Participants choose ingredients, mix to the Helpful Ratio (≈ 75% lentils/pasta/grains + 25% herbs/spices/accents), and name their blend.

  • They seal the pouch, apply their label, and take it home.

  • At home: add 2–3 cups water or broth, bring to a boil, then simmer 10–25 minutes (until tender). Season to taste.

Designed for organizations

  • Group size: flexible (works for small groups up to larger events; easy to scale with additional kits)

  • Session length: 45–60 minutes (10 minutes setup)

  • Space requirements: one or two tables; no stove or sink needed

  • Accessibility: seated activity, clear labeling, large-print handouts available

  • Versatile settings: senior centers, libraries, residences, day programs, wellness fairs, corporate ERGs, intergenerational events

Wellness & learning highlights

  • Encourages creativity, choice, and mindful eating

  • Nutrient-dense, plant-forward ingredients (fiber, plant protein, vitamins)

  • Clear substitutions for common dietary needs (gluten-free options included)

  • Built-in discussion prompts: flavor profiles, aromatics, and cultural variations

Ingredients & notes (food only)

Quinoa (grain), Red Lentils (legume), Farro (ancient grain), Couscous (pasta), Pasta Mix—Ditalini & Orzo (pasta), Parsley & Thyme (herbs), Dehydrated Onion (≈ 1 Tbsp dried = ¼ cup fresh), Garlic Powder (≈ ⅛ tsp = 1 clove fresh), Lemon Powder (simply dehydrated lemon), Turmeric + Black Pepper (paired intentionally—pepper’s piperine helps the body absorb turmeric’s curcumin far more effectively).

  • Participants own the outcome (a mix with their chosen name and label)
