Foraged Sugar Maple Bark (with Lichen)
The sugar maple is New England’s signature tree—especially beloved in Vermont, New Hampshire, and western Massachusetts. Revered for its syrup and its brilliant fall color, this tree also produces bark that flakes and ages beautifully. We collect and treat bark with care, preserving any natural lichen when possible. Each piece is unique—textured, layered, and full of character. Use it to evoke the layered history of our forests. In past centuries, bark was even brewed into teas or used for tanning leather.
