Sphagnum Moss
Harvested from northern wetlands and bogs, sphagnum moss has long been valued in New England for its ability to hold moisture. Used in gardening, floristry, and by early settlers as a bedding and wound-packing material, it’s prized for its absorbency and gentle acidity. In our kits, sphagnum plays a structural role—helping retain water and creating a base for layering. Its golden tones also add an earthy, natural layer to any miniature landscape.
